Hi - My name is Laverne and I ride a Harley-Davidson 2000 Heritage Softail. My favorite rides are Route 66 from Chicago to California and Milwaukee's 100th celebration. I live in New Mexico. I'm 5'2" so my Heritage had to be lowered (the back only). I started riding in 1996 on a 1989 1200 Sporster, chain driven, 4 speed previously owned by Ted Nugent's son-in-law. My 2nd Harley was a 1998 Dyna Low Rider and in 2000 I moved up to my Softail. The counter-balanced engine (twin cam 88B) is the best thing Harley-Davidson could have done for me. The vibration is gone. Some of the trips I've taken all my Harleys include Washington DC (twice), Sturgis SD (twice), Laughlin NV (twice), Chilocothe OH, Sturgis MI, West Branch MI, Fremont MI, Roswell NM, Santa Fe NM to Taos to Angel Fire to Chama NM, and many, many others. Riding is a lifestyle for me. It is not a hobby or a passing fancy. I have ridden in all weather, except snow. However, there was snow on my driveway when I went for a ride here in NM in February. |
