This is my 1983 Honda 550 Nighthawk. She spent most of her life in a garage, only having 500 miles on it when I started riding it in late February of 2003. She now has over 7,400 miles. She is a great first bike with lots of scoot. My boyfriend, Bob, gave her a good cleaning and polishing. I ride with men and don't have a bit of problem keeping up with them, now that I am comfortable riding. I ride to work almost every day. Living in So. Cal. is definitely an advantage.(2/2003) |

The group of guys that I ride with, including Bob, are all retired military and have an unofficial club called the F.O.M.O.B.'s (Fat Old Men On Bikes). Well, when I joined the group, we needed to have a lady counterpart, but I took exception to the 'fat' part, even though I may be. So, hence, F.O.W.O.B.'s (Fantastic Old Women On Bikes) was born. We had T-shirts made up and get lots of comments. |
